How are fleahaus auctions different than other online auctions?

What should I expect when I click the "Start Auction" link?

Click on the "Start Auction" link to create a new online auction. We will ask you to describe your item, upload a picture of it (if you have one), create your auction settings (like your starting price), and confirm your contact information. Once the process is complete, your item will appear in the fleahaus categories and users will be able to search for and find your item using the search tool on the home page.

How do I list an item for sale?

What sort of things can I sell?

Almost anything you could sell on main street, in a classified ad, or at a garage sale. If you can't sell it there, you probably can't sell it here. Please see our Terms and Conditions for details. If you are still unsure, please contact us at support@fleahaus.com and we will assist you in deciding if the item is okay to sell on our site.

How much does it cost to sell an item?

If you auction your item on fleahaus and it ends with a winner, you pay us eight percent (8%) or one dollar ($1.00) of the auction end price, whichever is greater, but no more than fifty dollars ($50.00). If your auction ends with no bids (no auction winner), you don't owe us a thing for that auction! We offer extremely competitive rates combined with the ease of one fee for listing your item instead of many. Read more about Inform rates and billing here.

Where can I monitor my auction activity?

Simply sign in and select "My Account". All items you are listing for sale will appear. To view the items you are bidding on, select "Track My Bids" in the task bar located on the left side of your account page.

Can I edit my auction after it has started?

You may edit any part of your auction until the first bid is placed. After the first bid is placed, you may no longer make changes to your auction page.

Can I end my auction early?

You may delete an auction any time up until the first bid is placed.

How long does an auction last?

Each auction lasts seven days. The auction starts immediately after you finish listing your item for sale.

An item I bought (or sold) on fleahaus still shows up on my "My Account" page. Why?

All items bought or sold by you will by listed on your accounts page after the auction has ended. These items are left here for your reference. They are marked as "Inactive" and are no longer listed on fleahaus. They will be automatically deleted at timed intervals after the auction ends (approximately 2 weeks). Or, if you are the seller, you may delete your sold items at any time if you so choose.

Bidding: How do I bid on an item?

Sign-in to fleahaus using your username and password. If you do not have a username and password you will need to register first. Click "Make a bid"on the auction page.

Can I cancel a bid I have made?

At the current time we do not allow retraction of bids.

How do I contact the seller?

Click the question mark on the auction page. The seller will contact you directly via email.

What happens when the auction ends?

Both seller and buyer will receive an "end of auction" notice sent via email with contact info for seller and buyer and final bid amount. At this point you need to contact the seller/buyer to arrange for payment and pick up or delivery of the item.

I won the auction. Who do I pay?

Please contact the seller directly to arrange payment.

What's the Inform feature and how do I use it?

Using the Inform feature, you can create searchable classified ads (short-term) or "online yellow pages" ads (long-term). Inform is another way to put your information at the community's fingertips.

What should I expect when I click the "Inform Classifieds" link?

Click on the "Inform Classifieds" link to create a new informational item (a form of advertising) to be listed on fleahaus.com. We will ask you to describe your company, goods or services and upload a picture to accompany your ad (if you have one), and we'll ask how long you want the ad to run. You may also selectively choose to show one or more fields of contact information. Your item will then appear in the fleahaus categories and users will be able to search for and find your item using the search tool on the home page.

What steps are involved in setting up an Inform item?

I didn't finish listing my Inform.

If you were entering an item and left the fleahaus website without finishing, the item you were working on will show up on your "My Account" page. It is marked as "Inactive" and is not yet listed on fleahaus. You may delete inactive items if you are no longer interested in them. If you want to finish an unlisted entry, delete the unfinished one and start a new listing by clicking on the Start Auction or Inform Classifieds link. fleahaus automatically deletes inactive items at timed intervals (approximately 2 weeks).

Can I edit my Inform listing?

You may edit any part of your Inform listing at any time.

My Inform listing has ended and I want to re-list.

You will receive an email notification at the time the listing expires. You will be given the opportunity to re-list your item at that time if you so choose. Simply go to your "My Account" page and click on the "Re-list" button next to your listing and follow the steps. You may also edit your listing at any time by clicking the "edit" button.

I want to delete my Inform listing.

If you want to end your Inform listing early for any reason, you may do so at any time.

Will my real name appear on web pages? I don't want my personal information published on the web.

By default, contact information (including first and last names, addresses and phone numbers) will not appear in search results or on other web pages. Instead, your fleahaus Username is used to identify you. And of course, your credit card information is NEVER shared with anyone. Please review our Terms and Conditions to review our privacy statement.

When using the Inform feature, you are given the opportunity to selectively share contact information.

I forgot my password

From the sign in page, click on "Forgot my password" to the right of the user id and password boxes. From there you will enter the username and primary email address we have for you on file, and we'll send your password to you shortly.

Why do I need to register?

Registration helps us maintain a safe environment for buying and selling. You may search fleahaus without registering. When you're ready to Bid, Sell or Inform, you will need to register.

How do I change my contact info?

Go to your "My Account" page and select the appropriate link from the bar on the left side of the page. From there you will be able to change contact info as necessary.

If you have used an acceptable format and sized your photo correctly and you still have trouble uploading it, please contact us at support@fleahaus.com and we will assist you in getting your picture onto the site.

How do I resolve a dispute with the buyer or seller?

First, contact the seller/buyer and attempt to work the problem out.

Remember that fleahaus isn't involved and doesn't participate in the transaction between buyer and seller, nor do we control the actions or behavior of participants in the auction community. We will, however, do our best to weed out abusers for the sake of maintaining a reliable and trustworthy business environment.

What happens when a user abuses the system?

If a user repeatedly violates fleahaus's Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to suspend the account of said user for an indefinite or permanent time frame, based on the nature and extent of the violation(s).
